It can be difficult working online from home if you have only one device for more than one child, but there are ways to stop you having to keep logging in and out

The simplest way is to use the Chrome browser and create separate profiles for each child, which will enable you to flip between the two accounts.

Each Chrome profile can have its own unique set of bookmarks, history, passwords and other settings.

For Child 1:

Section 1: Sign in to Chrome for the first time:

  1. Open Chrome.
  2. Look at the top right and see what colour the profile button is. If it says People it means there are no profiles yet on this Chrome browser.  If you see something else go to section 2 below.
  3. Click Sign in to Chrome.
  4. Sign in with Child 1's Google Account.
  5. Go to Section 3 to continue.

Section 2: Signing in when someone else already has a profile.

  1. If someone is already signed in the Profile button will show a name when you hover over the Profile button.
  2. Click on the Profile button and select Add at the bottom to add Child 1.
  3. Go to Section 3 to continue.

Section 3: Adding the profile

  1. You will be taken to a pop up - see below.
  2. Enter the child's name and click on an icon (you can always change this later in Chrome settings - chrome://settings/appearance).

  3. You will then be taken to a new browser tab to start setting up the Chrome profile.  Click on Get Started.

  4. You will go through a number of steps, choose your preferences, and you will eventually be asked to sign in.  If the dialogue box is in Chinese and you can't read it, you can change the language at the bottom right hand corner:

  5. Sign in with Child 1's Google email address and password and you will see the chosen profile icon pop up in the right hand corner.
  6. Repeat Section 2 and 3 for Child 2.
